Website Terms of Use

Version 1.0.0
Effective 1 September 2025
Platform document

These Terms of Use govern your access to and use of the UNICONS website at www.unicons.co.uk. By continuing to browse or use the site, you agree to be bound by these terms.

1. About These Terms

These Website Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the website located at www.unicons.co.uk (the "Website"), including all pages, sub-domains, content, features, and services made available through it, operated by LOPEX UNICONS LTD (trading as "UNICONS"), a company registered in England and Wales, with its registered office at 214 High Street, Second Floor, Hounslow, TW3 1HB, London, United Kingdom ("we", "us", "our").

Please read these Terms carefully before using the Website. By accessing or using the Website in any manner — including, but not limited to, visiting or browsing the Website, submitting an enquiry form, or contributing content — you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy, which are incorporated into these Terms by reference.

If you do not agree to these Terms, you must immediately cease using the Website.

These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you (the "User") and LOPEX UNICONS LTD. Where you are accessing the Website on behalf of an organisation, you represent and warrant that you have the authority to bind that organisation to these Terms.

We reserve the right to amend these Terms at any time. The date of the most recent revision will be indicated at the foot of this page. Your continued use of the Website following the posting of any changes constitutes your acceptance of such changes. We encourage you to review these Terms periodically.

2. Acceptance of Terms Through Continued Use

Access to and use of the Website is conditional upon your acceptance of and compliance with these Terms. Acceptance is not limited to clicking a specific "I agree" button; rather:

  • Continued browsing of any page of the Website constitutes acceptance of these Terms in full.
  • Submitting any form, creating an account, or making any enquiry through the Website constitutes acceptance of these Terms, our Privacy Policy, and any other applicable legal documents referenced therein.
  • Returning visitors are deemed to accept any updated Terms by continuing to use the Website after updates are posted.

If you are a minor (under 18 years of age), you may only use the Website with the involvement of a parent or legal guardian who agrees to these Terms on your behalf. By using the Website, you represent that you are aged 18 or over, or that you have obtained appropriate parental or guardian consent.

3. Website Access

3.1 No Guarantee of Availability

We make no warranty or guarantee that access to the Website will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free. The Website is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We reserve the right, at our sole discretion and without notice, to:

  • Temporarily suspend or restrict access to the Website or any part of it for operational, maintenance, or security reasons;
  • Withdraw, amend, or modify any content, feature, or service on the Website;
  • Impose usage limits or restrictions on any feature of the Website.

3.2 Maintenance Windows

Planned maintenance may occur periodically. During such periods, the Website or specific features may be unavailable. Where reasonably practicable, we will provide advance notice of significant maintenance windows via the Website or by email to registered users. We accept no liability for any loss or inconvenience arising from such downtime.

3.3 Right to Restrict or Terminate Access

We reserve the right, at our sole discretion and without prior notice or liability, to:

  • Deny, suspend, or terminate your access to all or part of the Website at any time, including if we reasonably believe you have breached these Terms;
  • Remove, edit, or refuse to post any content submitted by you;
  • Disclose your identity or other information about you to any third party where we believe it is appropriate to do so (for example, in connection with a legal claim, complaint, or regulatory investigation).

3.4 Account Security

Where access to the Website requires you to create an account, you are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. You must notify us immediately at enquiry@unicons.co.uk if you suspect any unauthorised use of your account.

4. Permitted Use

4.1 Personal, Non-Commercial Use Only

Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to access and use the Website solely for your own personal and non-commercial purposes — that is, to browse information about educational opportunities, submit enquiries, access your account (if registered), and use the features of the Website as intended.

This licence does not include:

  • Any commercial exploitation or resale of the Website or its content;
  • Use of data mining, robots, scraping, crawling, or similar automated data-gathering tools;
  • Reproduction, distribution, or transmission of any content from the Website for commercial purposes;
  • Creating derivative works based on Website content without our express written consent;
  • Any use of the Website in connection with a competing business or service.

4.2 Compliance with Law

You agree to use the Website only in a manner that complies with all applicable laws and regulations, including but not limited to the laws of England and Wales, data protection legislation (UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018), and any applicable international laws where you access the Website from outside the United Kingdom.

5. Prohibited Uses

You must not use the Website for any of the following purposes, or facilitate or encourage any third party to do so:

5.1 Unauthorised Access and Technical Interference - Attempting to gain unauthorised access to any part of the Website, its servers, or any database connected to the Website; - Launching denial-of-service attacks, flooding, mail-bombing, or any other form of attack intended to impair the availability or performance of the Website; - Introducing, transmitting, or distributing viruses, worms, Trojans, ransomware, spyware, adware, or any other malicious or harmful software or code; - Using any device, software, or routine to interfere or attempt to interfere with the proper working of the Website; - Probing, scanning, or testing the vulnerability of the Website or any connected network or system.

5.2 Automated Access and Data Harvesting - Accessing the Website by automated means, including scrapers, bots, crawlers, spiders, or similar tools, without our express written permission; - Collecting, harvesting, or extracting any personally identifiable information, contact details, or other data from the Website for any unsolicited commercial purpose; - Using the Website to send unsolicited communications (spam) to other users or third parties.

5.3 Misrepresentation and Fraud - Misrepresenting your identity or affiliation with any person or organisation; - Impersonating any UNICONS employee, contractor, partner institution, or other user; - Providing false, misleading, or inaccurate information through any form or communication on the Website; - Engaging in any conduct intended to deceive or defraud UNICONS or any other user.

5.4 Harmful and Illegal Content - Posting, uploading, transmitting, or distributing any content that is unlawful, defamatory, threatening, abusive, harassing, obscene, indecent, discriminatory, or otherwise objectionable; - Infringing the intellectual property rights, privacy rights, or any other rights of any third party; - Engaging in any conduct that could bring UNICONS or LOPEX UNICONS LTD into disrepute.

5.5 Consequences of Prohibited Use

Any breach of this section may result in the immediate suspension or termination of your access to the Website, civil legal proceedings, and/or referral to law enforcement authorities. We reserve all rights in respect of any such breach, including the right to seek damages and injunctive relief.

6. Intellectual Property

6.1 Ownership

All content published on or forming part of the Website — including, without limitation, text, articles, guides, data, graphics, logos, icons, photographs, audio clips, video clips, digital downloads, data compilations, software, and the overall design, layout, and look-and-feel of the Website — is the property of LOPEX UNICONS LTD or its licensors and is protected by copyright, trade mark, database right, and other applicable intellectual property laws in the United Kingdom and internationally.

The UNICONS name, logo, and related trade marks are registered or unregistered trade marks of LOPEX UNICONS LTD. Nothing in these Terms grants you any right or licence to use any trade mark, logo, or service mark displayed on the Website without the prior written permission of LOPEX UNICONS LTD or the relevant third-party owner.

6.2 Limited Licence for Personal Viewing

We grant you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to:

  • Access and view the Website and its content for your own personal, non-commercial use;
  • Print a single copy of any page of the Website for personal reference only, provided that any copyright and other proprietary notices are retained.

This licence expressly does not permit you to:

  • Copy, reproduce, republish, upload, post, broadcast, transmit, adapt, modify, or otherwise exploit any content from the Website without our prior written consent;
  • Use any illustrations, photographs, video, audio, or graphics separately from any accompanying text;
  • Delete or alter any copyright, trade mark, or other proprietary notices from copies of materials from the Website.

Any use of Website content not expressly permitted by these Terms requires a separate written licence from LOPEX UNICONS LTD. Requests for permission should be directed to enquiry@unicons.co.uk.

6.3 Your Feedback

If you submit comments, ideas, suggestions, or feedback regarding the Website or our services ("Feedback"), you grant us a perpetual, irrevocable, royalty-free, worldwide licence to use, reproduce, modify, and incorporate such Feedback for any purpose, without any obligation to compensate you or maintain confidentiality.

7. User-Generated Content

7.1 Scope

Certain areas of the Website may, from time to time, permit users to submit, post, upload, or otherwise contribute content, including but not limited to reviews, testimonials, profile information, enquiry messages, and other submissions ("User Content"). This section applies to all such User Content.

7.2 Licence Grant

By submitting any User Content to the Website, you grant LOPEX UNICONS LTD a non-exclusive, royalty-free, perpetual, irrevocable, sub-licensable, and worldwide licence to use, reproduce, modify, adapt, publish, translate, distribute, perform, and display such User Content in connection with the operation and promotion of the Website and our services, in any media format and through any media channels, now known or hereafter developed.

You represent and warrant that:

  • You own or have the necessary rights and permissions to submit the User Content and to grant the licence set out above;
  • The User Content does not infringe any third-party intellectual property rights, privacy rights, or any other rights;
  • The User Content complies with these Terms and all applicable laws and regulations.

7.3 Prohibited Content

You must not submit any User Content that:

  • Is false, misleading, or deceptive;
  • Is defamatory, libellous, threatening, harassing, abusive, hateful, or discriminatory on any grounds;
  • Is obscene, indecent, pornographic, or otherwise offensive;
  • Infringes any intellectual property right of any third party;
  • Contains any personal data of third parties without their express consent;
  • Promotes illegal activity or constitutes or encourages criminal conduct;
  • Contains any advertising, promotional material, or unsolicited commercial communications;
  • Contains software viruses or any other harmful code.

7.4 Moderation

We reserve the right (but have no obligation) to monitor, review, edit, refuse to post, or remove any User Content at our sole discretion and without notice, including where we consider it to be in breach of these Terms or otherwise objectionable. Removal of User Content does not affect our rights under the licence granted in clause 7.2.

7.5 Moral Rights

To the extent permitted by applicable law, you irrevocably waive all moral rights in respect of any User Content submitted to the Website.

8. Third-Party Links and External Websites

8.1 No Endorsement

The Website may contain hyperlinks to third-party websites, resources, or services that are not owned or controlled by LOPEX UNICONS LTD. These links are provided for your convenience and information only. The inclusion of any link does not imply our endorsement, approval, or recommendation of the linked website or any content, products, or services made available through it.

8.2 No Responsibility for External Sites

We have no control over the content, privacy practices, or terms of use of third-party websites and accept no responsibility or liability for:

  • The content, accuracy, or legality of any third-party website;
  • Any loss or damage that may arise from your use of any third-party website or reliance on any content published thereon;
  • Any goods, services, or information obtained from or through a third-party website.

8.3 Your Responsibility

When you leave the Website by following a third-party link, you do so at your own risk. We strongly encourage you to review the privacy policy and terms of use of any third-party website you visit.

8.4 Linking to Our Website

You may link to our Website's homepage, provided you do so in a fair and legal manner and in a way that does not damage our reputation or take advantage of it. You must not:

  • Establish a link in such a way as to suggest any form of association, approval, or endorsement by us where none exists;
  • Frame our Website on any other website without our prior written consent;
  • Link to any part of the Website other than the homepage without our prior written consent.

We reserve the right to withdraw linking permission at any time without notice.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

9.1 Website Content

The content on the Website is provided for general information and educational guidance purposes only. It is not intended to constitute professional advice of any kind (including legal, financial, immigration, or academic advice). While we take reasonable steps to ensure that the information on the Website is accurate and up to date, we make no representations, warranties, or guarantees, express or implied, that:

  • The Website or its content is accurate, complete, current, or suitable for any particular purpose;
  • The Website will be available at any particular time or location;
  • Any defects or errors in the Website will be corrected;
  • The Website or the servers that make it available are free from viruses or other harmful components.

9.2 Exclusion of Implied Terms

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, we exclude all conditions, warranties, representations, and other terms which might otherwise be implied by statute, common law, or the law of equity.

9.3 No Reliance

Nothing on the Website constitutes an offer to enter into any contract. You acknowledge that you will not rely upon the Website as your sole or primary source of information for any significant decision, including but not limited to decisions relating to university applications, student visas, or financial commitments.

10. Limitation of Liability

10.1 Exclusion of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, LOPEX UNICONS LTD, its directors, officers, employees, contractors, agents, licensors, and service providers shall not be liable to you — whether in contract, tort (including negligence), breach of statutory duty, or otherwise — for any:

  • Loss of profits, revenue, business, contracts, anticipated savings, or goodwill;
  • Loss of data or corruption of data;
  • Wasted expenditure or management time;
  • Loss of opportunity;
  • Indirect, special, incidental, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages of any kind;

arising out of or in connection with your use of, or inability to use, the Website, its content, or any linked third-party website, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

10.2 Aggregate Cap

Where liability cannot be fully excluded by law, our total aggregate liability to you in connection with these Terms or your use of the Website shall not exceed £100 (one hundred pounds sterling).

10.3 Non-Excludable Rights

Nothing in these Terms seeks to exclude or limit liability for:

  • Death or personal injury caused by our negligence;
  • Fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation;
  • Any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law, including your statutory rights as a consumer under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.

10.4 Force Majeure

We shall not be liable for any delay or failure in performing our obligations under these Terms where such delay or failure is caused by circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to acts of God, natural disasters, pandemic, governmental action, internet service provider failure, power outage, or labour dispute.

11. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless LOPEX UNICONS LTD and its directors, officers, employees, agents, contractors, and licensors from and against any and all claims, liabilities, damages, losses, costs, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or in connection with:

  • Your access to or use of the Website in violation of these Terms;
  • Any User Content you submit to the Website;
  • Your violation of any applicable law or regulation;
  • Your infringement of any third-party intellectual property, privacy, or other rights;
  • Any misrepresentation made by you.

This indemnity obligation will survive the termination of these Terms and your use of the Website.

12. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

12.1 Governing Law

These Terms and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with them or their subject matter or formation (including non-contractual disputes or claims) shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the law of England and Wales.

12.2 Jurisdiction

Subject to clause 12.3, you irrevocably agree that the courts of England and Wales shall have exclusive jurisdiction to settle any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with these Terms or their subject matter.

12.3 Consumer Rights

If you are a consumer resident in another part of the United Kingdom or the European Union, you may also have the right to bring proceedings in the courts of the country where you are resident, in accordance with applicable mandatory consumer protection laws. Nothing in this clause limits any right you may have as a consumer under applicable law.

13. General Provisions

13.1 Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and LOPEX UNICONS LTD with respect to your use of the Website, and supersede all prior agreements, representations, and understandings.

13.2 Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found by a court of competent jurisdiction to be invalid, illegal, or unenforceable, that provision shall be deemed to be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it enforceable, or severed from these Terms if modification is not possible, and the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.

13.3 Waiver

Our failure to exercise or enforce any right or provision of these Terms shall not constitute a waiver of that right or provision. Any waiver must be in writing and signed by an authorised representative of LOPEX UNICONS LTD.

13.4 No Partnership or Agency

Nothing in these Terms shall create or be deemed to create any partnership, joint venture, employment, franchise, or agency relationship between you and LOPEX UNICONS LTD.

13.5 Assignment

You may not assign, transfer, or sub-licence any of your rights or obligations under these Terms without our prior written consent. We may assign our rights and obligations under these Terms at any time.
